A pillar is pressed out of 1 piece of steel, unlike some of the others on the market which have to be welded around the corners. 

Please be aware if fitting to a series 2, they dont have the return lip which your door seal buts up to, however if your fitting later door seals which alot of people do, then they are ideal for series 2 as well.
